i'm sorry, maybe i'm part of that kid's generation too, but i don't understand why it was a huge deal that he called them at home. if it was in the middle of the night and had woken everyone else up, i would understand, but otherwise, she could have just told him what he needed to know(or not) and left it at that, asking him politely not to call them at home again. "the how dare you call us at home" is so uncalled for. he is a teenager, lady. a dumb one, but still a teenager. you're an adult. grow up.
or you could just not blow smoke in people's faces. that seems to be the easiest solution. who does that anyway?
as for the whole banning smoking thing, it should clearly be up to private establishments as to whether or not they will allow smoking. if you don't like a restaurant's policy, you *gasp* don't patronize their business. seems pretty simple to me.
PAYING for better service is NOT preferential treatment."
If everyone were allowed to purchase the insurance, you would be correct. Since it's only available to people with certain home values and insurance premiums,it is preferential. Had you read the article, you would have seen that it's only available in a few counties total.
Must I define preferential for you? The difference between this and, say, a first class airline ticket, is that ANYONE can save their money and buy one. This is clearly not the case with this insurance, hence making it preferential.
I am glad my mother taught me some manners, unlike you. there is a way to POLITELY diasagree with someone. since you are clearly unable to do this, let me show you by defining preferential for you: showing preference. This private service is limited to those with million dollar homes and a minimum of ten thousand dollars in insurance premiums. the difference between this, and say, a fist class airline ticket, is that me, you, and average joe can save our money and buy one. not everyone can buy this insurance. so again, by definition, it IS preferential treatment.
The documentary is quite good. As others have mentioned, the mistakes made throughout the process are highlighted, rather than swept under the rug. We also see stories of the Japanese-Americans in containment camps, as well as the blacks that fought in seperate companies.
I do not understand the FCC fines referring to the cursing. The images within the film are in no way suitable for children, and honestly, if you can handle a close up shot of a baby starved to death at a concentration camp, you can handle a few four letter words.
we were taught in high school that the plymouth rock story was a hoax. apparently it was originally found too far inland(i think that is the story) to have been the original landing point for the pilgrims.
45% i live in in the south, so i actually haven't even seen most of these quarters. do they release these things geographically? i have only ever seen southern or east coast quarters.
thanks for this. i remember visiting a friend in northern virginia and being quite irked that they did not serve sweet tea. the availability of sweet tea has always been my measuring stick for whether or not an area is truly southern.

Now who's the moron?

i believe that's the very definition of "preferential."

toy-boat.
I have never come across a person that could say that five times fast without inevitably uttering: "toy-boit."
