America is still the greatest country in the world. It's greater than the sum of it's parts. We have a large varied geography, influential institutions such as IBM, Coca Cola, Wal-Mart, McDonalds. Our style and entertainment is emulated throughout the world.

Now the reality is once you start looking closely at various aspects of the country, yes there are many problems. But a "country" is a very huge complex thing, so there are a lot of bad aspects to go with the good.
