@Jolly -- Is there any irony in you stereotyping all "right wingers" as bigots?
I'm sick of political correctness. The charge of racism has been used so much that it's lost its power. Even if these *are* racist, and I certainly don't think they are, it's the smug self-important sense of superiority that annoys me. No, the Mexican caricature is not my culture. Neither is the guy holding the picture. I don't appreciate the assumption that he speaks for me because I happen to be from the same background.
I refuse to use anything with mercury in it. God knows how many are crushed and broken in landfills or dumped in the desert. I'm buying LEDs now and I wish the CFLs were banned as hazards.
As for the "extreme" right not protesting when this was passed under W's watch? Try reading some rightwing blogs on occasion instead of villifying them for what's said by others--I've found a good perspective is based on hearing both sides.
I was impressed by his determination after crash #2. I was laughing when he spilled into the truck. And if it wouldn't have caused bodily injury, I almost wish he'd crashed that cop's windshield.
Approaching the local post gate means that I slow to 15 mph and then stop to show my ID. There are signs, lights, concrete barriers and soldiers anticipating this and clearly demonstrating that I need to slow down and prepare to stop. Any car that increases speed and charges the gate needs to be stopped, and if that involves this net, so be it.
You can see the beginnings of what would be awesome about Henson's work, but he blossomed with his own material, not someone else's. That said, the little protest signs made me sporfle.

Pests should be gotten rid of, but if there's no need for cruelty, then it should be avoided.
