How ironic that tonight I'm celebrating the 11th birthday of my daughter who was not breast-fed. Today I also received her first 6th-grade report-card. Her average over all her classes is 95. (Her IQ is 2 SD's above the mean.)
Of course breast-feeding is the best way to nourish a baby, but there are myriad reasons many women can't. How mean-spirited to espouse rumor and innuendo to lay on top of the guilt already shoveled on our shoulders.
Just a niggling point, there is a difference between gender and biological sex. If this biological female chooses to identify as a male, then I believe we should respect his wishes. But to impose _our_ view that his X chromosome means his gender is fixed as female, IMHO, is wrong.
John Kerry is a brilliant strategist. His 'botched joke' wiped the only issue where Republicans will get out the vote in droves -- gay marriage rights -- off the radar.
