(sorry, I can't answer as I don't know the movie or the books and after all this I'm not sure I want to know!)

I live in Ontario as well as some other posters here. The story as it's written/reported here, makes the carpooling issue seem so ridiculous, sensationalizes it, and is taken out of context. Please check your facts.

I hate to sound cyncial, but is this a Photoshop job?

My first thought was it's the work of human(s), and they are garden-lovers and cat-haters. Cats in the neighbourhood are getting onto their property, and the owner takes care of the cat before their precious landscaping gets messed up. Very nasty. Here's a clue - look for the people with the nicest gardens/grounds.

My second thought was to people of that area - don't let your cat out!!! Cats can live a full life indoors. Look at the one who gets peanuts out of a jar!!

Yes, blue eyed cats are usually deaf, which begs the question: If the cat has one blue eye and one green, is it only deaf in one ear?

Was it drugged perhaps?

awww... that is so cute! those little quackers... animals do amazing things sometimes.

That is the saddest thing, but wonderful that the dog seems to have survived unscathed. One has to wonder if the dog was really thrown away as trash, or somehow got into a box and didn't get out in time.
Hopefully a kind person will adopt that little guy and give him a great life.

The poor bird seemed dazed or slightly injured. I didn't find it cute or funny (even though the dog and cat are cute on their own). The guy seemed to be a little too amused when the cat went to get the poor bird.
