There are so many cutesy backpacks these days, my umbrella idea could easily fit both cute and utilitarian and I didn't even go to design school.

Maybe less stupid then the umbrella hat. Why not just have an attachment to a backpack, like an aluminum pipe that the umbrella slides and clicks into?
