I grew up as the oldest in a family of twelve - nine of which were adopted. I never felt "burdened" by having to watch my younger siblings - actually, it was amazing to be able to make memories with my brothers and sisters... things that we still talk about. We weren't hermits - I was able to spend time with my friends, be involved in sports, and travel. Not a single one of my siblings would wish that things had been different in our family growing up. I believe wholeheartedly that the Duggars, unlike the Octo-mom, are instilling in their kids much more maturity than their peers.
