Hmmm, I'd been in Wyoming for a year when this happened, and I never heard about this fiasco until today. I agree - the egg art by LeDonne is crap. But I read that the Wyoming Arts Council has rallied artists here in order to make sure that this never happens again.
Not that it hasn't already been said, more or less, but this is probably the best 15 minutes of film I've ever seen anywhere. And a simply amazing concept and revelation at the end. Too bad I'm watching it on a mediocre monitor and not in true film glory.
I'll always remember the day Earnhardt died. Not that I cared about him in particular, but it was the day that a live-in girlfriend moved out on me, and she was a huge fan of his. After a couple of hours on the road back home, I'm sure that's when the news broke over her car radio....
When you say "the Denny's it's offered at", it should be clarified that this is "Denny's Beer Barrel Pub", not the Denny's restaurant chain. I've seen this place mentioned a few times over the years; I guess they've been competing with other places to take the title of "biggest burger".
Gail and Chandrielle, I have you both beat! I lived in California for my first 39 years (44 now) and still had never heard of avocado pie, and living in San Francisco, I didn't exactly lead a culinarily sheltered life. Learn something new every day here....
Um, "intact" is one word. What is with this trend in the last few years, anyway? I don't remember, several decades ago, ever seeing people write "in tact". Sorry, this bugs me!
I think I know the story behind this, unless there's been more than one dinosaur-toting helicopter lately.
It was a famous road-side dinosaur named Dixie. She was at a gas station/mini-mart in Benicia, California (NE of San Francisco, and near the Bay). In 1994, she was moved to a new location. I lived nearby for years, and I remember being upset that I didn't get a chance to see it happen.
The source text probably is, but like a couple of other projects of this type, the goal seems to be to add on visual value. Project Gutenberg emphasizes producing raw, unformatted text files. This project, at first glance, provides an easily readable, chapter-by-chapter interface, and in a much better font too. Just my opinion.
It's a nice little oldie, I guess. Hopefully someone will enlighten me/us.
