Who remembers the 3-sided album from Monty Python: Matching Tie and Handkerchief? It just had two interlaced grooves on one side, so depending on where along the edge you placed the needle you would get one groove or the other. Lots of people got freaked out when they played it and something different came out for the first time.

The math doesn't work out... 175 million trees/year, one generation would be 3000 years long to get to 525 billion. I think they mean 5.25 billion.

I have never been able to get my head around reading on a Kindle or Fire or other tablet, despite how convenient they seem. I love having the book in my hand, flipping the pages, and looking around. It's a physical and emotional thing that the tablet will never recreate
