Wait a minute. Not only did they call a scientist in, but they listened to them? This isn't the 21st century that I know. And on local news? Level people doing level things on local news? Oh, there was a video. Okay.

I explained this to a woman I work with. You've got a bunch of llamas who eat from shrubs and some that are tall enough to eat trees. One day a disease comes around and kills all the trees. The short ones die. The tall ones live and become giraffes. That's all. It's not disputable or emotional or anything like an opinion. Evolution is real because it must be real. That's it.

Until people get a little bit of learning about about the scientific definition of Theory, as in way more than fact, we should call it something else.

I'm tired of accepting others' opinions on this matter when we have fact and I'm just being nice to protect their feelings. I'm not helping anyone doing that, just insulting their intelligence.

I love The Killers. There are a lot of things I don't like, but I just keep my mouth shut, say to myself, this person is working for free, and move on. Anyway, thanks as usual!

Furthermore with those pilgrims, pilgrim children drank beer as soon as they were weaned. The water wasn't safe, so it was the only thing anyone drank. Most people assume that this was near beer (low-alcohol beer), but books I've read dispute this, some insisting that everyone was drunk pretty much all the time until modern sanitation.

I read them all! Thank goodness you've got the next page thing on the bottom. I hate it when sites just send you to archives or a page of titles. I want it all loaded up and right there. I love all of the stuff here, and get to catch up on what was happening before I had a computer. I'm not sure what I did then....

I'm a writer myself, and female to boot, so this question's been dogging me, too. I used to think, before I really wrote much for public consumption, that writers were suicidal because they had to remain socially aloof, that they couldn't participate in life and observe it at the same time, and this would, naturally, make them sad, at least, if not hopelessly lonely.

Now I think that writers' block and depression are the same thing, that they have the same consequences and causes. I think that writing comes from the same fog-bog of the near sub-conscious as one's self-perception, that they are fished from the same place, that inspiration becomes everything that's good, and negative feedback becomes everything that's bad. They're tied together the minute you become a writer, like the Argentinean dollar was connected to the American. What drags one, drags the other.

I would say that nothing but an unbreakable ego will stave this off, but it didn't work with Hemingway, did it?

A woman came in to apply for a job as a server at a restaurant I worked at. While she filled out the application, she pulled her teddy bear out and held it under her other arm.

The gentleman pictured in all of the Sidd Finch shots was, at the time, my applied arts (shop) teacher in junior high. The only thing that we knew was that he suddenly needed a French horn very, very bad and that he was very excited about something. Then April and the press. It was a whole lot of fun. It's Friday night, though, and I've been out drinking and can't remember his name. Mr. Something....

Have faviconed your site. You should know.

And apparently I'm gay. Who knew?
