If the child were scared at all, I would not have enjoyed this. Plus she's got the family cat on her shirt. Bravo! Fine, fun parenting.

Seriously tho, being laid up in a hospital for X # of weeks/months... I can't believe she hasn't picked up a book and read for a few hours. Or Wiki'd WW2. Or watched a damn movie. Just astonished, is all.

I had the opportunity to see a retrospective of Hopper's work at the Tate Modern while in London during summer of 2004. Like most paintings, any photo or reproduction just does.not do any justice. The man is meticulous, his work is engrossing. Oh, and 'nighthawks' is much smaller than I imagined it would be.
