@Madoc: How can failing business with bad business models pay back multi-billion dollar loans, when they're losing more than they are asking for each quarter of this last year? They're not going to retool and shift their product line before they've burned through all of the bail out money.

Besides the problem isn't only the types of cars they make. You can't sell cars when no one has any money to spend on them. Every automakers sales have dropped in the US, the Big 3 don't have enough sales outside the US to keep them in business like all the other automakers have.

The US would have been better off to have given all the bail out moneys to the citizens and let them spend it where they would, banks would have had loans/credit paid, cars would have been bought, and the economy actually boosted.

He didn't go a week without spending money. He went a week spending other people's money and creating debt for the following week.

It really bothers me when people pretend to be poor. They have no idea what it's like to not know if they'll be able to buy groceries next week, or if they'll be able to keep the power on next month. For them being broke is just a game that they can end whenever they get bored of it.

I hate to say it, but you'd need a lot more than a gun to kill a croc. Hunting gators you have to sever their spine and thread a wire into their skull to scramble their brain to kill them. Crocodilians are way too primitive to kill by shoot them.

My question is how many deaths were there by crocs prior to the ban on guns?

And why was there such a problem that there needs to be such a complete ban that even rifles and shotguns were banned? They usually remain legal for hunters/farmers to keep even after pistols and such are made illegal.

Seeing as how money is created from nothing and has an arbitrary value assigned to it, this should have been pushed to the point of Jane's company taking him to court, I would have loved to seen the precedent set for paying bills with pieces of art. :)

@Pudifoot:

So if the government shouldn't be able to force people to give to charity, why then is it ok for it to force people to support the military? By your logic I shouldn't have to pay taxes because some of my money might be paying for the war and since I don't want to pay for it, they shouldn't force me to.

Wealthy people and corporations paying a mildly higher tax rate than poor people is not a new practice, and it's certainly not communism. We have a progressive tax code that already puts people into different tax brackets based on their income. There's no "spreading the wealth", no one is having their assets seized and given to the poor. All that has been proposed is a modification of our current tax code to ease the tax burden off the people who can not afford it to the ones that can. Can you honestly tell me that someone who works hard to barely make ends meet, who come the end of the year maybe has a few hundred dollars left in the bank should have to pay as much (percentage wise) of their salary as someone who at the end of the year has millions left? Especially considering that multimillionaire probably doesn't put the majority of their annual income back into the economy.

Don't trash government because you don't like how it's run. The Government isn't some Godzilla like monster that stomps around polluting the environment, invading countries and stealing from rich people. This is a democratic republic, the citizenry elects people to represent their needs. The problem is that the citizenry doesn't have the best track record for electing the right people. They have the opportunity to decide where their tax dollars go and what public policies get made by voting for the people who make the decisions on how tax dollars get spent. If you don't like what it'll get spent on vote for the other guy, if your guy loses, try again next time or better yet get out and run for office and if you're lucky make the decisions yourself. But since too few people want to take the responsibility to run for office we are forced to choose from the group that seeks the power, and as I see it very few people seek power for the right reasons.

The shear fact that Paris is doing these videos/ads makes me think I vastly underestimated her intelligence. It takes a fairly smart person to grasp satire of these levels. Kudos to her.

Hey Paris, You're not 35 yet, study up, by the time you hit the big three-five, you could have a shot, especially in this country.

It may be of some note that Clarkson is the only presenter on Top Gear that doesn't ride a motorcycle. This article could just be his way of harassing James May and Richard Hammond.

How much you want to bet the cops stiffed the motel for the room while it was being used as a crime scene?

I hate hearing about this kinda of crap, maybe I could see wasting the effort and the money to arrest him if the report was that he had a gun, but it sounds like he just decided to make some quick money selling some weed. Where's the harm in that? He's just doing his part to encourage the economy.
