I highly recommend the book, The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film. It gives a great account of the birthing pains Lucas went through to get the first movie made. It really _was_ quite an heroic feat (as well as a lot of his own money in the early production), but it also makes clear that his huge success allowed him to later surround himself with nothing but sycophantic yes-men instead of brutally honest creative collaborators. Many of his later creative endeavors would have been a lot more interesting and entertaining if he, himself had realized this.
Just saw one the other day on a 2005-ish BMW with a middle aged Latino woman driving: "SATAN". wtf?
Faves from the past are a VW spotted on the San Mateo bridge: RED C PED
And a likely Pixar employee's: The plate's frame said "TO" on the top edge, "AND BEYOND" on the bottom edge, and "INFINITY" on the plate itself. And yes, the car was an Infinity.
The principals will undoubtedly get jobs at other game companies after decrying how they "couldn't get any of their brilliant visions" implemented on DNF and how they were held back by everyone around them. It will truly be a lesson in blamestorming.
Pluto's demotion also has to do with its wildly elliptical and out-of-the-plane of all the other planets orbits, making it more akin to the long period comets/asteroids of the Oort cloud.
Damn that was awesome! It just gets better toward the end. The raccoon laying in the garbage can saying "falling in love means falling out of love with every expectation you had" is so full of win it's beyond funny.
Big 'Heads fan - longtime listener. I was in the audience for the filming of one of the "Stop Making Sense" concert movie shows, but wasn't a huge Heads fan then. I have always "appreciated" them, if not adored them. I love them more in retrospect, for some reason.
Now my 3-1/2 year old has been requesting "Make Believe Mambo" for months now, and has taken a great liking to Mr. Jones. He loves them horn arrangements.
Also, do yourself a favor and check out a video I watch about once a month, the Heads live in Rome doing Crosseyed & Painless. The camera work blows, but Belew is on guitar and the energy in that performance just blast out of the tiny yootoob screen.
Oh, and I have tix for DB's Seattle show in June. Can't wait - dick or not!

Ironically, the science here is actually more sound than that behind abstinence.
