In high school we ended up taking physics before calculus. This made it difficult to understand some of the concepts. In particular, my physics teacher always had difficulties teaching vectors and came up with a solution to make vectors a bit more fun. Once a day when the class would get frustrated he would allow one student to come to the head of the class, pick up his toy velociraptor and pull it's leg, which would cause the velociraptor to let out a loud rrraaaawwwwww! This became so much fun, that students had to vie to be the one who could come to the front of the class and be the source of laughter and release.
Eventually physics actually became one of our favorite classes and we chipped in some money at the end of the year to buy the teacher some additional vocal dinosaurs.
I only wish we had something of similar value to help me get past Quantum Mechanics in College.
