If you haven't been to Afghanistan in the last few years, your opinion on whether or not it's liberated is meaningless.
It appears that only perverts need to be told that pedophilia is wrong. This is not a matter of custom; it is a matter of human rights. America is not wrong for being a civilized country, and we can not apologize for having values that have evolved beyond the Pashtun code. Women in Afghanistan do not marry; they are sold into slavery. If you defend the practice here as custom, will you also defend the 19th Century American practice of slavery as being customary?
The ones whose opinion on this matter are most important, that is the children in question, are unable to voice their opinion. I will remain forever silent on the subject if anyone can show me one child sold into slavery that appreciates this particular custom.
