I live on Gabriola, one of the islands were a foot was found. I think if people around the world started looking in shoes washed up on their beaches, they would start to find the same things. People fall in the water, and die, rot, and fall apart. The shoe and it's cargo float away. Maybe the right ones go one way, due to their shape, and the lefts go with the current elsewhere? The colder the water, the longer it takes to rot, so it may be less likely to find them further south.

DC-I'm sorry and embarassed for what happened to your family in my country. We are a country 10% the size of the USA with 10% of the same sort of idiots, and they tend to live and congregate in smaller De'iverance type communities, just like in the USA. Most of us are pretty good people.
