Here in the UK the electricity generators keep an eye on TV schedules for things like this. Firstly there is the increased power consumption from people switching on kettles during the breaks in popular programs, but secondly the spikes in water consumption can cause problems for some hydroelectric facilities. Strange how these things connect.
It worries me that this resulted in the police being called, it worries me more that the police attended.
Here in the UK at least copyright is a civil matter and nothing to do with police. If it's a criminal matter then you have a nation where business is dictating the law to the state. Scary.
