Could someone please explain the Aliant/Rogers comma fiasco? I keep reading and rereading that paragraph but can't figure out how the 2nd comma meant Aliant could ignore the initial 5 yr deal!
While I am Jewish, I'm not quite as observant as the Chasidic Jews. I used to live near Kiryas Joel and saw many of these folks around, especially walking on the side of the road come Saturdays.
For the most part I say more power to 'em; as Americans we should all have the right to observe as we wish (as long as it doesn't interfere with someone else's observances IMHO). That being said, I always kind of wish the Satmar and other Chasidic folks weren't quite so insular. You see, while she may have 200 grandkids and 2,000 grandkids, I guarantee a disproportionate number are handicapped. Because they are expected to have tons of kids, but are not supposed to marry outside the faith, the breeding pool is kinda small. And those poor kids pay the price.
I have the same issue with Stonehenge. Pictures make it look as if it's on some lonely moor, far away from civilization. What one doesn't often see is the traffic clogged A-303 passing next to it, a stones throw away (pun intended).
Neat, but unneccessary IMHO. I use a program called autostitch instead. If I'm careful taking my pics (as in, not take 2, wander off and come back later to take the rest), the program puts them together pretty well.

As an occupational therapist I can't say I'm to surprised; this is what occupational therapy is based on. Using activities that engage the mind proves to be much more effective than those that don't.
Erm...if this thing is for, among other things, improving health and safety, then why do the sorters touch the pancakes barehanded right before they enter the robot? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose?
My first marriage was in a church. A church converted into the town's community art gallery (my Jewish grandma would have plotzed if I married in a REAL church). It was awesome; high ceilings, great lighting and surrounded by paintings and sculptures. Very cool.
And of course, there was The Limelight, in Manhattan before all the drug dealing & that club kid murder shut it down.
