Apparently we have some women with their panties all in a bunch simply because they miss the context of a single snippet of text: "our leading leaders of men and women at war"

Think of "men and women at war" = "US soldiers in combat" and therefore "leaders of [US Soldiers in combat]" = "US Generals" so we end up with "leading [US Generals]". Its not that hard people, think before you type

Proud wearer of Vibram KSO's! I first started with just trail running (I really can't wearing imagine traditional shoes for trails anymore). I now use my KSO's for most of my neighborhood runs too and a lot of my workouts at the gym. I was surprised how much more stable I felt doing lunges, squats, etc. while wearing the vibrams. I was much more rigid and firmly planted in my heels. Stronger joints from the "barefoot" running probably has something to do with that too.

Also, I'm a big guy (6'5" 250) and the change in running style that barefoot running brings did wonders for alleviating arch problems, joint pain, and shin splints. Calves were sore for awhile but using muscle (instead of heel) to absorb the shock of each stride has been a blessing for my big frame.

Funding would be handled by the NIH. Most medical funding comes out of the NIH than Pharma pockets anyways. Yes, injuring animals sucks but its the only way we can find viable treatments. I can live with a few hundred paraplegic rats if it means my paraplegic brother-in-law could ever walk again... hell, just getting the ability to sweat to control his body temperature, be able to sense the pain of a necrotic insect bite on the back of his leg, or just be able control when he goes to the bathroom. Yeah, I can live with paraplegic rats.

Rick Reilly wrote an article on Team Hoyt in 2005 for Sports Illustrated called "Strongest Dad in the World." I think his opening lines really some up how Hoyt makes you feel...

"I try to be a good father. Give my kids mulligans. Work nights to pay for their text messaging. Take them to swimsuit shoots.

But compared with Dick Hoyt, I suck."

The article and story of Team Hoyt was brough tup in congress and a copy of the article is found here:

Wow, I only thought my fellow Americans were capable of this level of sloth and gluttony.

I nice first step would be cutting out the bacon sandwiches... bacon is one of the most unhealthy things on earth that you can consume. I mean its tasty and all but just not worth the fat, sodium, and cholesterol.

Wouldn't mind something implemented where they would get additional monies for weight they lose and can keep off.

They are easy to change because it would be a logistical nightmare for the DOT to manage singular passwords across the state for hundreds of devices. Its not like we are talking bout signal light controllers being tampered with, stop signs being removed, or other obvious safety hazards.

Your wording of the article makes it sound like Churches want to use flirting tactics and dating services to lure in people and increase congregation size, which is not at all what the article says.

"Dwindling congregations and a lack of experience in relationships have left many churchgoers struggling to find a partner, according to clergy.
...
Now hundreds of Christians are attending courses designed to make them more successful in turning a first date into a long-term relationship."

@ kelly

Obesity in animals is a huge problem. It shortens the life of the animal (cardiovascular, kidney, and liver disease) and lessens their quality of life. Most cats should weigh around 8-12 pounds. That means this cat is about 267% overweight and would be like an average man weighing over 500 pounds. People are simply to lazy/irresponsible to properly care for their pet. Most people I talk to don't feed their pet servings, they just keep the bowl full. My wife is a veterinarian and obesity is a big pet peeve of hers.
