This is nothing new. I had something very similar back in the late sixties or so.
Mine didn't talk though.

I realize that this is a cool way to visualise my personal energy consumption, but there's another way called an Ohm meter.
Lets face it, this is just more eye candy for a life of consumption.
If it wasn't for that life of consumption thingy, I'd be all over this power cord.
It's pretty cool looking, and they should have tried marketing it that way instead of trying to sell me something that uses energy all the time in the guise of an energy saver.
