Yes, this was some great info. I've been following the Heads since the late 70s. They really represent New Wave, as it was in the early days.

And while I consider David Byrne to be an artistic genius, he does strike me as a dick (as Gail wrote). One CD of Byrne's - Rei Momo - is incredible. It's all salsa, mambo and the like.

I did see the Stop Making Sense show in DC and it was OUTSTANDING! Thanks for the post, Jill.

Fave Heads Line: Pleasantly out of proportion...

I'm with Craig: No sympathy. And let's think about the AIG exec's actions in the big picture: Would you hire him to be an executive at your corporation? After he blasted his current employer in a public forum? I doubt it. His public "resignation" is less than professional and rather obviously illustrates the type of egocentric behavior seemingly emblematic of the AIG Financial Products group. AIG was a great insurance company, but like Citibank and the rest, they should never have stepped into the financial arena...not with knuckleheads like this guy. It's all so self-serving and rewarding failure is the WORST model for our children to follow.

Years ago, I saw a short film based on this exact premise. It involved a businessman who was stuck in time, much like Phil. The actor was the same guy who played the father on "That 70s Show." It was more profound that this movie, and really made you think.

He seems like a good man. And he has fed people around the world who have no protection nor champions. Bless him and his work. With more folks like him, it would be a better world.

The Other Parker's comment is very good, on the mark. Jesus would - I hope - try to expose this ridiculous level of government and politician worship. Think about it: Look at the way the media has portrayed Obama. And I voted for him, but am still rather appalled at the "love" he gets from everyone. I'm disappointed, too, that non of these pols - including Pres Obama - denies this worship. Despite whatever comes out of their mouths about God and Jesus, they remain the most important people in their worlds. Shoot, no wonder times are bad. Lastly, Jesus - like God - is in each of us despite our religions and race. The secret of God is that God dwells within all of us and all we need to do is call upon God. Not that I'm being religuous...I just don't like the power and control of organized religions.

Failout: Ha-ha!!!! All this depressing crap (not the comments by everyone, just the bad news) and then I read the line about wanting to throw shoes at someone! Ha-ha!!!!! Thanks for the laugh, my friend.

Woogie is so right on target. Blogging is for losers who never have to face the music of their words. As for these two, just look at their faces. Smug.

Your pain is over, Brenden. Thank you for your life and love. I know you are okay now, and my prayers are for your family and this earth: We've lost true and pure goodness, and we will all suffer for that. Thanks, Neatorama, for putting stuff like this on your site. I can always count on you guys to make me smile each day...perhaps there's a little Brended in all of us.

Actually, they were testing ICBMs and the wire happened to be attached. Ha-ha! No, I agree with the first comment: Amazing. Not sure I'd like to drive over a bridge that far above ground. Wow!
