While these links may not be the exact same ones as before, I also get that sense of deja vu going. I think the story of the great molasses flood is one of the more oft repeated ones here on Neatorama. I'm not nitpicking or criticizing, just making an observation that's all.
The funny thing is, the molasses incident tends to get 'packaged' along with numerous other lists. Sometimes it's part of a 'strangest moments in American history' list, at other times it's part of a 'top 5 strange food related stories' list. And that's why we think we've seen it before.
The problem is that in an incredibly stressful situation, all things go out the window. When your accelerator is stuck and in the matter of seconds you are going from 20-80 mph, it's natural to panic and become frightened. It's not like you train every day on how to deal with a stuck pedal, in real life scenarios.
You either automatically react like Jaymez above, or you panic and forget everything you read.
I agree with the earlier statements. These "ordinary" women are more slimmer and prettier than most "average" folk around the world. Just as dubious a concept as magazines publishing 'plus sized' models.
