Well I think the business model itself was prone to eventually fail. From what I understand newspapers get a lot of their profits from advertisements. With the economy the way it's been going, and the way anyone can read print newspaper for free online, something was going to give.
I mean, it's great that we can read all the newspapers online for free, but how is that going to pay salaries? The only solution I can think of is offering content for subscriptions.
I wonder how a picture of three girls became a discussion about sick cultural issues with young girls and defecating in bars, lol. The lolita outfit/concept is a mainstay of anime/cosplay gatherings, so I can see that part. The middle I have no idea what that is, looks like something from the 80's. The school girl on the left I admit it is a bit creepy.
Umm, Angstrom, I think that is what they are doing, the one with the most frontpaged items is the winner, not the one that submits the most. Makes sense. Congratulations to Marilyn and all the other submitters. Keep on submitting!
Well Blue Man Group was alright. It was cool for what it was worth but it certainly wasn't worth the 80 plus dollars I recall paying to see it. The music rocked though.
It's cool, and I concur with jbean that the inspiration was both blue man group and the Japanese game show featuring the matrix ping pong. Not a bad thing though.
Actually Mytake, the ray in the first one was NOT killed but was in fact released back into the river after being tagged.
I believe this is the same research expedition as in the first link, as that little pool they're keeping it in looks the same. However, the ray in the first link was around 7 feet, this one is 6.6 feet and is missing the tail (the first one had a tail).
So I'm as confused as anyone else if this is the same ray or not.
You are exactly right Gadget. "Beautiful" people have capitalized on their looks to get fame and attention on sites like Youtube and the like. It's the new promotional tool I suppose, in some ways an ego boost.
But heck if I looked like a model I wouldn't be doing endless tasks for three dollars an hour (though of course it's relative, three dollars an hour might be a lot of money in some places). I'd go for the big time baby! I'd promote myself to be a male model and go for the big bucks!
Hey might as well, if people are willing to pay for something, why not. I love the story of how some guy wanted to meet her for a few private hours at some ski resort, but he wanted a refund when she showed up with a friend.
She's quite pretty though, she should be a model :)

Another weird one was those Wario games that had these wacky mini games, things like plucking out nose hairs.
The Wii has a few odd ones too, including one simulating a urinal.
