@JC - Okie doke thanks. I was in Bella Napoli then trying to stay alive on the Italian roads.

(even more so on new Years Eve!)

(NYE in BN is like WWIII)

@EB - I guess it would be easier since the stiffness
might help. Then again that could be a liability.
What's the difference between French bread and Italian bread? Don't say one is sold in Paris and the other is sold in Rome!

@MC - Don't you use bread to remove a broken light bulb in a socket? Either that or a potato, I forget.

(turn the switch off first)

@Alex - You say something?

Been a while since I've been to the best site on the I/N. That be yours matey. I just noticed the Best Of
page and have been sending it's link to everyone I Email. Looks like a great way to get a quick idea of what Neatorama.com is all about. If they don't immediately come here and become hard core members I threaten to send them more Emails.

BTW without looking what is the only U.S. coin where the person looks the opposite way from the others? What direction? Why?

(before you get all excited I only Email 4 people)

(Hey, 4 is better than zip)

(hope he knows cuz I forget)

@Johnny Cat - Ahoy there JC. Good to see your flag at the foretop. Saw it earlier but didn't know if it was okay to holler Ahoy or not so I kept quiet. That's a first!

(have no idea what a foretop is but it sounded neat)

Neato, which isn't all that amazing considering where I found it.

@Kalel - Ummmm I donno how to tell you this but that is not up to your usual excellent comments.

(pretty lame if you ask me which you didn't)

Nice, and not a single collision or uplifted middle finger to be seen. There was, however, one guy that had to jump the curb to gain a whole 5 feet on the cluster of bikes. In 1955 I experienced rush hour in Amsterdam. Never seen so many bikes in all my life.
It was truly amazing! 55 years later and I still recall it. Every bicycle on the planet was there, and the huge mass of riders moved as smoothly as a choreographed Astaire/Rogers number.

@ andiscandis - At first I thought it was
like a sidecar on a motorcycle. Had to replay to
see it was another bike. He did a great job with it.
Being the romantic sort I am I'll believe he was going
to see his girlfriend.

(wasn't really every bike, but heck, I was 10 then)

Well Edward stole my thunder but to add to his comment
Ian Punnett talked about this with two guests on Coast-to-Coast AM last night.

Not just one, two, or three but a huge number of
everyday folks got together and planned this marvelous
event. Not an easy feat. How wonderful can it get? Hamlet would be proud.

@Larfin - Good one! I think Rotterdam has a few also.

I wasn't around then but I wouldn't be surprised, however, to find those negative tales about him are nothing more than revisionist history by leftist loons. They love tearing down those that made the U.S. what it is today. They are masters at it.

That being said I would like to point out something about him that for some reason usually gets forgotten. He was very interested in manned flight and did experiments with kites and other "machines". This was up in Nova Scotia Canada around the same time the Wrights were experimenting. I have a typed letter signed by Alexander Graham Bell to my Great Uncle, Winfield Scott Clime. In the letter he asked if Clime could journey to Nova Scotia for a fortnight and take photographs of his work. He wasn't happy with the photographs he was getting. He mentioned the photos Clime took of the Wright "machines". Unfortunately I do not know if my Great Uncle went or not.

@Joufy - Well said.

I didn't go to the link but how fast were they going?

I'm guessing he was a passenger. Lot easier to bail from that side. Plus I would like to think knowing his children were aboard he wouldn't want to endanger them with an accident which would most likely happen if he was driving.

(then again, what do I know)
