Actually, the evidence against Mr. Polanski was very thin. So thin, in fact, that the prosecutor agreed to a plea bargain of time served (42 days) and deportation if he pled guilty. He did just that but right before his sentencing the judge decided to rescind the deal without allowing Mr. Polanski to retract his guilty plea. He left the country, which is what his sentence would have been if the judge wouldn't have acted in such an unfair manner. Leave him alone.
