"Our Gang" -- as the series was known to me in the late 30's -- along with the Westerns (Hop-a-Long Cassidy, Tom Mix, Flash Gordon, etc.) was one of my favorites when my grandmother took me and my little sister to the neighborhood movie theater for the 5-cent matinees every Saturday afternoon.
