Well the nitwits doing this are free to bash themselves silly but the horses have no choice and this puts them in considerable danger. I'm never for using animals as play things in dangerous "sports".

Does a military contractor have to "reinvent" everything? I don't see the need for this except in some very, very narrow situations. Our military needs to be more versatile. Also, I do NOT buy the "safe from bombs" idea. It looks like that structure would come toppling down if a truck just rammed it. Without being set in a foundation there is no way that will sustain a bomb of any magnitude.

Here is my take on it. If you see a network that is named something that isn't a default name like "linksys" or "dlink" then you can assume that the person running it is smart enough to set a WEP key. After all, to name a network you need to at least run through a basic setup wizard.

So if the network is named something rather unique and it's still open to the world you can assume it is intentionally left open and use it (within reason). If they catch you and charge you it would be rather easy to prove gross negligence on their part and leave doubt that they hadn't opened it intentionally.

The Slow Loris is a threatened species and is illegal to own as a pet. They're teeth are usually ripped out with pliers to make them suitable pets but they often die due to neglect and infection. They're export from Indonesia is illegal but enforcement is lax.

Cute as they are, they should not be promoted as pets and I am disappointed that Neatorama would help publicize them as pets.
