@unipiper I've heard back from Neatorama a couple times saying they were passing my contacts on to Reddit, but not a peep from Reddit yet. I keep trying to remember it's only been a month ;)
@Frau PLEASE! You could not see my boobs at all..well, maybe a little side-boob. Next year I eat fire while suspended by my knees over a tank full of hungry koi (cause seriously, we're fighting over a small piece of consumer electronics here. I have a budget to think of) while I yodel Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida. While displaying my mole shaped like a narwhal.
Frau, yeah there were some snafus but hopefully it'll just lend to a better contest next year. Be glad you didn't enter from the Reddit end of things like me. There were I think 4 of us that entered from Reddit. We never got one single mention on Reddit, AT ALL. I was pleasantly surprised that Neatorama gave us all plugs here and there, at least when they listed all the entries in one place.
Neato - I'd recommend next year having a deadline to enter your video by, then start the voting from that date. Not sure what you can really do to avoid the "popularity contest" effect that occurred this time around. I bet there's a way though!
I believe you mean "Stephen King’s new novel Under the Dome"? - It's referenced as a movie in a couple places here.
I haven't seen the Simpsons Movie, but I'm reading the book right now, and not really enjoying it very much. I can't imagine though, that the concept of a town surprised to be trapped under a dome is such a unique idea that it's ruining the novel for people who have experienced both. Novels, films, tv, and comic books all dip into the same limited pool of ideas and everyone borrows from everyone else extensively. If King's book was populated by idiotic and hilarious yellow skinned simpletons or an anthropomorphized doughnut sign come to life, I might understand this, but outside of the most basic concept, I doubt there are any other similarities,
I just want to say, as things get really close, that Backwards Piano Guy, you're awesome and amazingly talented, and I had fucking Rent in my head the whole weekend when I went camping. And for that, I must beat you ;)
