This is nice. I wish I saw more of this sort of thing where I live in Montana. We brag about our wonderful scenery and wildlife and then proceed to slice apart migration routes and water corridors with barbed wire and four-lane interstates with concrete dividers. I wince every time I drive past a big red blotch on the road where some poor deer wasn't fast enough on his way to get to go get a drink.
Stormtrooper: "Steve82 wants to be your friend!" Obi-wan (waves hand): "You don't want to be my friend." Stormtrooper: "Steve82 doesn't want to be your friend."
"I also wanted the stories to reflect life in 2010 so they would interest readers in 2110, in the way that Wells’ stories do." So, he wanted stories about 2010 written the way they were in 1910. What?
The love these people (my people!) have for their Doctor Who and their BSG and their Batman and their Futurama and their Star Trek and Star Wars and LOTR and Princess Bride and all of it, all of that love is far more real and productive and HUMAN than anything those WBC monsters have felt for ANYTHING. The people at Comic-Con are there to revel in the boundless wonders created by the HUMAN MIND. The Bible is a great work of creativity, too, but it's such a small representation of what our species is capable of.
