Once I was crossing the border from Canada to the US and the border guard was being a real bastard to me. When he saw I was wearing mine, he asked me who it was for and then waved me through without another word. Nice.
Applause is can be so mandatory that doing it in between ever movement seems stilted and overdone. If it were an explosion of joy (like in jazz) I wouldn't have a problem.
Funerals are for the living, weddings are for the living. Everyone there, with the exception of the boy was living. Everyone got what they wanted. What could be better? (I cried, I'll bet you did too.)
To paraphrase Chris Rock, there must have been at least a couple of assholes there, a couple of people (at minimum) who's families were happy they didn't come home that day.
I'm listening to 'Technology Analogy' right now and I am thankful *I* don't have to write about this thing. I applaud him for taking that burden off our shoulders. Now if he would do the heavy lifting of listening to it as well...
