Interesting chart, but more interesting would be to see a compilation of three charts. One family unit below the poverty line, an average family, and then a family that makes well about the average. I predict that a rich family would spend the same percentages as the average family. The different group would be the poor family. At minimum wage, you struggle to pay for even the basics.

Didn't several European countries get screwed when they went to the Euro? Look at Great Britain which kept their pound. The English pound has done better than the Euro.
World Currency? My vote: no

I actually learned something while I watched this:
1. I will watch anything to avoid housework.
2. Waving your arms does not distract from the fact you can't moonwalk (nor does dressing in MJ costume, for that matter.)

What a stupid article. Kids are cruel, and they are going to be so regardless of what name they have. If they don't make fun of their name, it will be the way they look. The real issue isn't the name, it is how these children are taught to deal with peer-pressure and bullies in school.
I do agree that your name can negatively affect a perspective job.
I also don't think that the list of "bad-boy" names are really that rare or "girly."

I'd just be happy to get some gasoline down here in Atlanta. Did you know that we are sitting in lines upwards to an hour to fill our tanks. I'm too young to remember gas shortages and gas rationing, but I'm feeling what everyone has told me about that era. We don't have gas. Whole gas stations have been shut down for a week with empty tanks. What is worse, is that the major media outlets are not reporting on it. It must not be that important. I want to know when we'll get gas again. The news media is focusing on the election and the economy; the local effects of the recent economic downturn aren't being reported. In brief, there is no way to know how individual Americans are being effected. We know for sure that a lot of people are with out homes as evidenced by the high level of foreclosures. Many people were laid off recently, so many Americans are without jobs too.
We won't know the true effect for quite a while.

I went to school in Atlanta for 4 years, drove all over the city, and can't remember ever seeing any of these signs. I can remember all the potholes and horrible roads. Does it surprise anyone that the whole city only has 50 signs? It doesn't seem like a lot.
Everyone mentions that $1000 isn't a lot of money, but I think Atlanta could use it for something better than re-labeling signs.
And finally, I'm not at all surprised that this started in Atlanta. We are the crown jewel of political correctness. I've lived many places, but here everything has to do with whether you're black, white, young, old, male, female, etc. Yes we're from the south. We have a history that isn't the most understanding of others differences (to say the very least) but to go overboard in political correctness (especially when common sense goes out the window) is unnecessary and counterproductive.

The first century believers did not worship in "church" buildings. They met in the homes of other believers (as mentioned many times in the Book of Acts). The Christian Church as a place came much later. I'd be interested to hear the results of the date testing.

The story is wonderful as it is, don't try to "recreate" the moment by wrapping them in a randomn blanket and standing them in a yard somewhere.
