I've done the dust devil thing there before! It's a lot of fun. Remember thats alkaline dust, not sand, so its much softer and does not remove layers of skin. Whats really impressive is when a dust storm blows in over the entire Black Rock Desert creating what we call a "white out". You can't see a foot infront of you.
I miss Burning Man :(

Did you know that the original book "2001" took place around Saturn not Jupiter? Kubrick thought the whole "sling shot around Jupiter" scene in the book was to technical and set the story around Jupiter instead. When Clark wrote 2010, he wrote it as a sequal to the movie 2001 (setting the story around Jupiter) and not the book.

I would like to see one on Risk as well (and if you ever play it with a bunch of career army people I garuntee its more than luck). I would also like to see one on Stratigo (sp?). I loved that game when I was a kid. Trivial Pursuit would be a good one to do to. Settlers is a great game too and every one should check it out. Also, how about some history on some really old board games: chess, checkers, go, etc...

For a good "new" game my friends and I have had very good luck with Apple to Apples.

OK, I just read there web site and they are doing it for the right reasons (I do agree that a silent pass with a glider or something might have been better if not logisticly harder).

This has only been touched on so I thought I would bring it up. Anthropologists have been trying to contact many of these tribes in the Amazon for years. What they have discovered is that THESE PEOPLE WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH US. The isolation is self imposed. The only reason anthropologists have even heard that these tribes existed is because other tribes they do have contact with would tell them stories and rumors of other tribes that no one had talked to in eons. These isolated tribes will not have any thing to do with even other amazonian tribes. It is obvious that these people want to be left alone and the only reason I could be OK with for trying this stunt of flying over them to get pictures is if these pictures are going to help keep laws in place to protect the area from outsiders. If they did it just because they wanted pics of "the hidden tribe," then these Anthropologists are true jack asses and have gone in to the field of study for all the wrong reasons. I guess I could read their web site and find out, huh?

I hate to tell you guys this, but I've seen guys that big in venice beach. Those pics are probably not photoshopped. The blogg mentions this, but check out the trailer for "Bigger, Stronger, Faster." It's creepy...
