The Blackbird was an amazing plane, I got to see one up close at Carswell Air Force base years ago when I was a kid. Now the planes are all grounded. It looked a hell of a lot cooler that "the flying wing" stealth bomber. And Alex is right, the SR-71 was primarily a reconnaissance plane.
