Oh, how I facepalm'd when I was talking about Phoenixes in a group once and an older (old enough to know better! mid-40's!) woman snapped back at me "I KNOW what a phoenix is; I've seen the Harry Potter movies." It took me a few moments to realize she was serious. :-(
It's actually under the ownership of Tom Post now, so Martin *did* sell it. While Post was having it restored and remodeled in '04 or '05 or so there was a fire in the main structure and it burned to the ground. It's since been rebuilt, and there are plans to make it into a Bed and Breakfast.
"discrimination of sorts"?? There are men with bigger, certainly more vulgar, breasts than me or most of my friends who can (and regularly do) go shirtless on hot days. I've seen such men pick up their moobs to let the sweat dry underneath.. at public pools!
"Of sort", indeed. Either make those jerks wear bikini or shirt tops (and watch them bitch about it) or allow everyone to go shirtless on hot days. People need to quit acting like they've never seen a titty before.
Actually, Phrank, it was a common practice for design and architecture students to be tasked to design furniture pieces in the mid-to-early 20th century (and before). Many of the most famous architects of the time when commissioned to build a house also designed the home's furniture as part of the final outcome.
To say Wright failed at furniture is in the butt of the sitter (in a word), but his furniture designs were fully consistent with the plans for his buildings. Maybe he should have thought a little more like Le Corbusier when it came to seating. :-)
The End.
