Anyway means "anyhow" or "in any case." "Anyways" is a strictly colloquial expression, as ungrammatical in written English as "anyhows" because adverbs cannot be plural. (University of Victoria)

I once discovered quite by accident that women (lesbians anyway) cannot under any circumstances resist fresh laundry scent. I walk into a bar with that, and I'll get stopped a number of times. It's the best ice breaker on the planet.

I also happen to know lesbians like their bacon. I have to figure out how to apply that.

My black lab shows his teeth too when grinning at me. It's not one of those wide ear to ear grins - just shows me his front teeth. It's cute. (to me only - scary to everyone else)

I have not read that book since I was 13 years old when my mother gave it to me as a gift on my birthday. It took me years to grasp why she would give me such a thing.

I recall at the time when it ended so abruptly, I asked my mother what happened to her. She told me I needed to find that out for myself. Needless to say, many tears were shed at the library.

I haven't re-read it since. And I've been resisting it. Although I've forgotten most of the details of the book, I don't want to let go of the memories of the feelings I had. My feelings as a 13 year old girl - Anne's contemporary.

It's funny, but I was just staring at the broken (stuck valve) propane tank last night and thinking wouldn't it be nice if I could cut it apart and make a little fire bowl out of it.

I eventually decided that even if the tank was empty, it probably wouldn't be truly empty and taking a saw to it would produce sparks that would thus win me a nice Darwin Award.

kid_icarus: Doesn't matter. It's about visuals here. Making an action like this visible is what counts in the public eye. Weather he pays it in the end or not is beside the point. If officers get ticketed more often, it will become a public issue and this is how the government is forced to change.

Did they ask anyone why they didn't take up the offer? I bet a lot of them were working under the "too good to be true" concept. Stuff like that just doesn't happen without a catch. I think it's apathy that keeps the people walking by.
