LOL @ Thaxted
I will ride on any roller coaster, that being said, if this is really a carnival ride and will collapse down to a 1x1 box for travel, I will pass. Or, I will go on the outer ring. The inner ring looks like it was designed to see how quickly I can reproduce the corn dog I would have just eaten.

Echoing a lot of comments on here- I was taught to type on typewriters, and use two spaces at the end of the sentence. It is such a habit at this point, I don't even notice that I am doing it. Also, as a person who appreciates things remembered, I kind of like the old fashioned quality of it. I don't have any interest in retraining my brain to do it differently!

The book itself IS history (as most are). As one commenter mentioned: it is revisionist history at work.
I have to agree with all of the intelligent comments prior.
I think if hearing or reading the word nigger makes you cringe, that is probably a good thing! We can't bleach out all of the bad things in the world. Reading about the holocaust makes me incredibly uncomfortable...ensuring that similar atrocities won't happen again. By reading/hearing, then cringing when we see offensive words, we can learn from that!
Lastly, to Krystalx, how do you know the races of the people who are up in arms about this? As commenter Catherine implies, editing one book to remove offensive things will only create the snowball effect. And yes, it will just ensure that I read only the originals and not someones edited version of the past.

Echoing JP...no offense to the artist, but when I saw that, I said out loud at my desk- Eww!

I'm with Cathy. I like the idea. But then again, I have never bought an animal. Adopt! There is no shortage of animals at the shelters!

Oh, and my comment is not directed at Neatorama, but at CBS news for reporting it (as news?).

Her flying standby makes this a non issue and sensational reporting. It DOES matter that she was booked standby. It doesn't matter that she was buckled in. The ticketed passenger came, that means the standby passenger has to give up the seat. Sucks, but thems the breaks.
I like the term someone used "nontroversy"...pretty much! Slow day in the news room I guess. Glad to hear that the oil spill is all cleaned up.

Totally justified.
I have to echo most sentiments already expressed. The American based airline system needs a total overhaul. To fly now, it feels like they are doing me a favor. They have forgotten that customers pay their wages.
I have often thought that Amtrak needs to use the very bad airline situation to their advantage and market taking the train over flying(and offer reasonable fares).

In 2008, I lost my wallet the day before a return flight home (domestic flight). I did get the third degree from TSA, asking all kinds of Big Brother questions, but I was ok with it, because I was able to catch my flight home that afternoon. You CAN fly without ID. Perhaps this guy was giving TSA other reasons to not let him through?
