There's one of these in Pennsylvania too, only it's old limestone mines. I used to work for a government agency that leased space from them, as it was a secured mine :) It was always slightly creepy, and there's never cell signal.

I've walked on the ice at Niagara Falls before. It's really neat, but ridiculously cold, esp with all that wind. I didn't stay outside long.

I guess it's a good thing I moved to California and became a fish snob. I never realized how good fish could be until I ate it fresh. If I ever move inland, I think I'd have to stop eating sashimi :(

Being a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient (the Eagle Scout equiv), kudos to this guy. Though the Girl Scout version isn't generally given the same respect. I had an interviewer at a potential employer laugh at me when I brought it up. But good for this guy!

Interestingly, I was watching some old Flash Gordon from the 40s last week and they had a "radio phone". The idea existed long before Star Trek.
