Some Canadian Skeptic's Comments
Yeah, it must be really hard to be a christian in the united states. What with having the all three branches of the government completely christian (with the exception of one atheist congressman that I'm aware of), oodles of money for faith-based-initiatives and the general impression that if you're a 'church goer', that implies that the person is an upstanding citizen, sort of on par with having served in the military.
Must be difficult.

Children's Aid Society is a normally hyper-reactive group. My family has had some run-ins with them before, all on the basis of some ill-informed teacher. In this case, however, CAS acted appropriatley, and they dismissed this as a baseless charge.
However, the School Board took it VERY seriously, which is horrible because it's a public entity. In effect, it says the government takes advice from psychics and will not hesitate to act on it.
I encourage everyone who is as angry as I am to visit my blog, where you can find all the relevant contact information, and write to the School Board and let them know that they can't get away with this, and they can't just sweep this under the rug.
Thanks!

ummmmm....why?
EMF don't harm us....I smell pseudoscience....trying to scare people who think that a cellphone will give you a brain tumor or your laptop will make you sterile.

I dunno, this seems awfully narcissistic. Rather than actually try to FIX things, we escape even further into our idealized versions of the world. Very post-modern (and hense, lame).

One of the posters above, 'Greg' hit the nail on the head: Or brains are designed to look for pattens in chaotic images, a phenomenon called 'paredolia'.
I think the author of this entry was being a bit coy when describing Hoagland's site as "entertaining". That, it surely is.
