Mallory: It has true voice recognition. No pre-preprogramming required, and it will recognize ANY voice. And it's integrated into the OS, so it works with Google searches, map lookups, composing text/email messages... everything.
I had fun finding it on Google Maps. It's not hard to find; all the info you need is in the article, and then you just need to scan the satellite image. The speech recognition on my Motorola DROID is really impressive. They're citing a decline in Google searches for "Dragon Naturally Speaking" as evidence of the "death" of speech recognition. I think this article is off-base. Or outdated.
Kai, this one is far from "standard". I doubt the shovels used by the Roman empire had a saw blade, a bottle opener, wire cutters, a measuring stick, etc. That's like calling a Swiss Army Knife "just a standard knife".
