One other note- DDT is easy to see in tissue samples with an electron microscope. The granules show up as bright glowing spots under the beam in both regular (SEI) mode and in backscatter (BEI) mode.

The "mother" (and wince when I use the term ) should be thrown into a hole and buried alive. I really can't think of a punishment horrible enough for her, to be honest. Even if she were to be flayed alive, dipped in salt and then set on fire, it wouldn't even come close.
