I've gone as high as 20% with Dogfish Head's 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout. They're pretty tasty, although the IPA needs some time to age or else it's just too harsh.
They are dead on about Heinekin drinkers. I always called it "crappy lawyer beer" because lawyers with lots of money and no time to find a decent beer prefer it for the status.
My wife and I were at this game. She was a trooper considering she's not a baseball fan, we got at six, the rain prevented the game from starting until 9:45 and we hung around the entire game.
I think she took her frustration out on the kids. The loudspeaker mentioned them a few times over the course of the game, particularly how none of them had ever been to a ballgame before. My wife was pretty ticked off about this, thinking the kids' parents could have brought them to any old night game.
It took this article to finally calm her down on that point. (Usually she's a very nice person, so I blame the 6.5 hours at Yankee Stadium for this outburst.)
"Firefly" got #1 right--there are no sound effects for exterior outer space scenes--just silence and some ambient music for flavor. It was a small detail of the show I've always appreciated.
Personally, I've always found Battleship boring and the luck-of-the-dice element in Monopoly pretty dire. (I prefer my dice games with more of a press-your-luck element like Yahtzee or Can't Stop.)
As mentioned in the comments of that article, boardgamegeek.com is a great source for discovering great new boardgames you've never heard of. The best ones to start with are Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne or Blokus. (In fact, Blokus can be found just about anywhere. Though it takes 2 minutes to learn, you have to be pretty sharp to win.)
It was on the Discovery Channel show Time Warp, and yes, the Will It Blend guy was a guest. What's impressive (and as can be seen in the video) is the blender still works fine after the explosion.
I'm flying this year. Crossed 42,500 this morning. At this rate, I'll be done Thursday. My record is 25 days, so I'm definitely destroying it this year.
(Yes, I'm an incredibly snobby beer drinker.)

These look more like "genuine" light sabre unbrellas due to the handle.
