The name of the photographer is in fact David Leventi. Why not link to his page, rather than a blog that 'borrowed' his pictures?

It's tempting to think it's him, but also unlikely. Lincoln was born in 1809. The daguerrotype was invented in 1837- and wasn't really commercially available in the United States until the 1840s. However if Abe was supposed to have been 27-29 in this photo, that would put this photo in 1838 at the latest.

May seem funny, but the lens that that guy has on his camera is such a large zoomlens that it probably doesn't make sense anyway to take a picture of that elephant- unless he perhaps wanted to photograph a hair on the elephants back or something.

I don't believe either 100%. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I'd advise to be skeptical.
