I don't know if this has already been said. But everytime I go to Canada, I notice how the Canadian boarder agents are significantly nicer than the US ones. I've been insulted and scowled at by the US ones, and I'm a US citizen!!
Its a perfect game involving everyone. One contestant is challenged on his/her skills of balance, speed, and timing. The others are challenged on their throwing skills, like aiming. Both sets of skills necessary for survival. The tools of the game are developed through creative multi-purposing of unrelated items. It shows creativity, playfulness, and competition. While simultaneously serving the evolutionary role of learning through play or even perhaps the same processes involved in a lek, bachelor herd, or display arena.
@The Bol B: Those people may either fall into the "thug" category or the "brand-name idolizing cultural wasteland" category that I made reference to in an earlier post. Ok 3 comments is my quota. I'll shut up now. This post is buried in the archives anyway.
Ok, perhaps I used the word "unprofessional" a little foolishly. But don't jump on my words just my general message. Oh and, 8th grade is not as young and carefree as some people seem to be saying in this blog. And finally, one must accept the fact that the world has rules (many more ridiculous than this one). Schools have lots a rules. And this shaved star, obviously breaks a rule. Also society has rules and stereotypes. Generally, society infers that only thugs, gang members, and criminals shave designs in their hair. This kid knows that. But he obviously thinks its cool. So he shaves a star and aligns himself with that image. Not a good way to prep for high-school.
Its obviously not a gang symbol. But it is beyond personal expression in that it is unprofessional and inappropriate for an 8th grader. He's no star-bellied sneech, just stupid (or stupid parents). Sure be independent, but at such an early age he's better off learning successful social cues that would keep him in school, and not in a gang or even a brand-name idolizing cultural wasteland. (run-on)
Brilliantly absurd. I was just trying to imagine being at a dinner party, and one of my friends blowing an enchanting song through a broccoli floret. HA! It must be hard to carve the whistling part. I did it out of clay before, and you got to get it juuust right.
-Wow, this is the greatest thing ever. I'm going to get my friends stoned and put this tape on like discovery channel. They're going to flip. (oh and people like "Fate" who reply that they totally saw this last year from some obscure source are people that I define as "tools". And maybe now I'm just that Internet guy inciting a...)
In the process of breathing the air in the tub drain, wouldn't you be just inhaling the smoke in the room through the overflow drain. They are connected. Like if you put a plunger on your drain to clear a clog, you just end up sucking air through the overflow drain; thats why you have to plug that with a wet towel or something.
