When I was an extremely tired mom of a colicky infant, my lullaby was a little different than most moms. To the tune of Brahms lullaby, I sang "Go to sleep, little creep, I am tired and sleepy. Go to sleep, little creep, or mommy will weep." Did that mean that I didn't love my beautiful baby girl? No! It meant that I was tired, and found a humorous way of dealing with it. My daughter, now 26, laughs about it now, and there was no long term damage done. Granted, the language used in this book wasn't used in my song, but I truly understand the frustration.
