Shoot, I guess I can't post links.

The University of Texas had a Introduce a Girl to Engineering day back in Feb. I took my 8 year old daughter, it was quite fun. Lots of experiments and information. She loved it.

That wagonwheel effect isn't just for film, your eyes have a "frame rate" as well. You can see stationary wheels or opposite revolutions just by looking at them at a certain speed.

You might also be able to see it on rotors/blades during start up and shut down and likely at certain speeds and angles. It's never as clean as this, which is why it's so rare and debatable.

It's all about how you want people to remember you and I think this is a great way to do it.

It could also have been accomplished with a cremation and a large photo of the man doing this exact thing.

But to each his own. I want to be strapped to a raft with a full suit of armor and a sword and then set ablaze and let to drift over the falls.

This upsets me only because my parents couldn't afford to do this. I got an allowance for a really small amount of time as it was. I mean, I turned out alright, I have a great thirst for knowledge even in my late 30's, but I remember being really upset at the kids who were paid for their grades. It was a Haves and Have Nots situation and as a Have Not I was resentful of it.

Oh man, that pi pie was so cute. My gf and I stressed over what to bring for a D&D party on the 13th. We wanted to make a pie and hoped the game would go past midnight so we could have pi pie, but then we couldn't figure out what kind of pie would be right.

So we brought D&D Jones soda instead.

^If it makes you feel better, I thought Tennent looked like a doofus after having Eccleston around for only a short time. They were both excellent, so I'm willing to give Smith a chance.

Megawati would like a word with you people.

I don't know, I'm torn on this. Geeks really love their/our culture and in lieu of a better history (parents, grandparents) given by tribal passing of names, I think it almost fitting that people do this. Didn't Adam Koford just name his kid Charlie Theodore after Charlie Brown and Dr. Seuss?

Man, that video could have been about 2 minutes shorter. Did we really need to see the person scoop all that out?

That said, this reminds me of my childhood around the 4th of July. I'm guessing the toxicity of that is why I get so antsy about overlong videos.
