I wonder how American people came to misspell metre. It is a French word that has been adopted into English, and has a very different yet similar meaning to meter.Everywhere but America the word metre means a distance of 1000 millimetres, and the word meter means a measuring device, such as speedometer and electric meter.I understand Americans spell theatre and centre, et cetera, with the 'er', changing the French spelling, but then they vocalise the word herb as 'erb', while confusingly (for me at least) say hospital for hospital, when both are French words.I hope the U.S.A. doesn't change the metric system to imperial, I wouldn't be able to fathom that.
That is so weird !They can jump up to 9 meters ... I wonder if they mean electric meters or speedometers ... maybe there is such a thing as jumpmeters ?The unit of distance you are looking for is METRE.
'Building on the work ...' that means stealing someone's idea and calling it his own.Edison was infamous for stealing other people's work and ideas and calling them his.Honest history.
Ignore us here in New Zealand and Australia if you will, but remember, we are a l o n g way from your covid germs and the beer we drink is affordable and cold. You need to look up the meaning of the word world.
Just send me your copy and I'll proofread and correct it for you." ... the female puppy, named Miracle and called Skipper".Which is it ?"She has a type of congenital conjoining disorders called ..."It is either types or disorder, but never 'type of disorders'. And I didn't even say anything about what the word miracle means.
Weird. Its 2022 in a few months and there are still countries and people that use the old imperial measuring system, a system based on an English king's body parts. The world counts money in decimal, which is just metric for money, and metric is so simple that even dumb people can use it.
And I didn't even say anything about what the word miracle means.
