Yeah, seems pretty useless. I like the idea but it just doesn't seem like it would be any benefit. The blind can locate someone by their talking just as well as they could by a clinking glass. Plus people will probably not clink their glasses very much because it would be annoying to others.
I've always pronounced the T as well. I've never really noticed anyone that does otherwise. I also pronounce the second P in pumpkin too which I do notice a lot of people avoid. Some even go so far as to call them punkins.
They took him to a veterinary teaching hospital, a place where vets are practicing to become independent vets. I'm a little bit shocked that these guys are charging up to $2000 in this case.
I realize that there are some costs for actual items like anesthesia and medical supplies but I can't imagine those things costing anywhere near that amount. Maybe the article isn't explaining it right but the story would have been much nicer if they didn't mention that there is going to be a $2000 bill involved.
I really like the idea of this article but they don't go into much detail about anything. For example their entire music history could be summed up by saying "There used to be boomboxes, now there are mp3 players". What about everything in between?
