We have schools here in the Inland Empire of California in which the children of illegal immigrants make up a HUGE percentage of the student population. When you have non-citizens using services paid for by citizens on SUCH a grand scale as we've got going the system doesn't work. There's just enough dough to cover everyone. When we fix our illegal alien problem in California we will fix many, many other problems like school funding (and traffic).

These types of ants are super fascinating. There is a fantastic colony at the zoo in Washington, D.C. that you can view because they're behind glass. You can see the garbage dumps and the fungus they grow and the queen and everything. It's truly amazing and was probably my favorite part of our recent trip to D.C.

Fun fact: Leaf cutter ant queens can have sex, store the sperm, and then impregnate themselves over and over years down the road!

Because stereotypes are usually stereotypes for a reason. Ads are marketed to the masses, not the exceptions. Ads don't create the roles people most often take in society; they reflect them. As someone who LOVES being a traditional, old fashioned housewife I am constantly being told by society that I am somehow opressed or that I should feel guilty for living in a way that people see as outdated and my values are not as valid as more modern ones. Well, back when these ads were created the roles were reversed. Women, as a hole (not fixing that typo), have come a very, very long way.

Spending money like this (or for a pitcher or for some twit to be in a stupid movie) is just wrong. I'm not saying people shouldn't be ALLOWED to spend their money how they want. I'm just saying this kind of extravagance is revolting and just wrong. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I was wasting such fortune on such inconsequential ridiculousness.
