I think that's pretty cool. There's always going to be something that someone else thinks is more worthy of another person's time and effort, but then they should go out and do those things and stop their bitching! It had to make him feel pretty good and if it brought a couple lowlives to justice then awesome!
Way to instigate, Absolut. Offending most of America seems like a pretty stupid marketing campaign. The ridiculous thing is that if the ad had been the United States flag over the entire continent it would be seen as egotistical and offensive. The people who think this whole issue of La Raza (racists who want Mexico to take control of parts ot eh U.S.) and the illegal problem really need to take a trip to Mexico and see what it is these people want our country to become. It's not being racist or intolerant to recognize that Mexico is seriously a craphole and the parts of the U.S. that are being overrun with Mexican citizens are turning into crapholes, too. People who think otherwise can't possibly live anywhere near these areas or they'd be as alarmed as those of us who are. This ad is not funny. It's incredibly offensive and I will NEVER support this company.
Also, don't they do this at the Museum of Tolerance in L.A.? I believe that you're given a card with someone's name and at the end you find out if they lived or not.
That's too bad that they put an end to this project. I think it was a wonderful idea. I learned about the holocaust when I was about in fifth grade and it absolutely scarred me. I devoured any fiction I could about the holocaust and was fortunate enough to meet some holocaust survivors at my high school. The stories of the holocaust have stayed with me and it sickens me that, even after such a horrible example of how evil people can be on such a grand scale, we STILL have genocide happening today (and too few people who care). Maybe more people should be be scarred by the reality of our human history.
Take a look at your glass pipe there, buddy. See all that nasty, stanky brown and black gunk? That goes into your lungs. Marijuana is good for you? Give me a break.
I've seen the (much longer) trailer and I don't see what's so sweet about a mom abandoning her child to go to another country. Having a mom around and being poor is better than not having your mom around and having a few extra pesos a month. Boo.
Most of Santa Ana is a frickin ghetto partially because of scumbags who go around vandalizing other people's property. If parents are stupid enough to raise someone with so little respect for other people's things then It's not a far stretch to think they're stupid enough to not recognize "warning signs".
Oh, don't be so hard on her. She did a great job. I used to do the same sort of thing when I was a kid. I'd read out loud when I was bored - a different accent for each paragraph.
I totally guessed Washington, by the way. It just seemed odd to have it in there since I didn't think Washingtonians really had any kind of distinct accent. Don't they just sound like "Americans"?

Nothing beats the Madonna Inn, though: http://madonnainn.com/tour/index.asp
