This is pretty cool! However, I would have a hard time justifying "dumpster diving" for chop sticks on a daily basis. I'll stick with shopping at REI.

I think it is really quite encouraging to hear leaders from that region actively engaging the outside world and offering a dialogue. I'm sure it was very scripted, but it came off as being very sincere. I hope that her efforts are successful such that other countries are encouraged to do similar projects. The US also needs to do some PR and show people that there is more to us than greed, movie stars, and McDonald's.

Those pigs look awesome! I would totally feel guilty for a whole two seconds while eating something that looks that cool.

At age 9 I was definitely out wandering around my small town, but my parent's would have never allowed me to travel around a city by myself. However, I am encouraged to hear one commenter's story of everyone on a metro train watching out for a couple young kids that had a creepy adult approach them. Unfortunately society is not always that kind, and the real world is not always easy to navigate. Most 9 year olds have neither the critical thinking skills nor the physical kills needed to handle themselves when the unexpected (ie. emergencies, delays, changes in plans) occur. I think an extra couple years of traveling with their parents would have been much better.

Now if only we could push a couple other companies to push ahead with their April Fool's Day pranks - google/virgin, Microsoft, etc.

Wouldn't have thought to give it a look had it not been for the comments, but I'm glad I did. The eye balls were a little creepy though.

Would have been much more fun if they were singing Afternoon Delight! (yes, I'm one of those who are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Arrested Development movie)

Basing a budget for a community on traffic citations is irresponsible of the local government, and shortening yellow lights to prey on the public is reprehensible.
I'll give these guys the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps the yellow lights were shortened to lengthen the green lights, which might ease traffic congestions slightly.

It does personify the animal if we see it flattened out with head, feet, etc still attached, so we do get a bit sqeemish, but is there anything wrong with eating animals? Whether you believe in God providing animals for nurrishment or survival of the fittest, I don't see how you can argue that you shouldn't eat animals. They're sooo tasty too....
